A. Gian Sagar College of Nursing, Ram Nagar (Rajpura), Distt. Patiala is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and approved by the Indian Council of Nursing.

B. The normal duration of B.Sc. (Nursing) course is four academic years. The course is governed by the rules and regulations of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences/INC.

D. Eligibility:-

(I)The eligibility of the candidates under Govt. Quota/Management Quota/Special Management Quota/NRI Quota is as per the criteria laid down in the Punjab Govt. Notification 5/48/08-3HB3/1982 dated 31.3.2008 and its amendment from time to time/PPMET 2008 Prospectus.

(ii)The candidate should have passed 10+1 and 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or equivalent examination as listed under clause 4A(i) a to f of the Punjab Govt. Notification dated 31.3.2008, as a regular candidate from a recognized institution situated in the State of Punjab except for the exemptions wherever applicable.

(iii) Candidate must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31^st Dec., 2008.

(iv) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/BC) taken together in PCBE and also in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) in 10+2 examination.

(v) The candidate should have secured 50% marks (40% for SC/BC) in PPMET also.

E. Selection/Admission Procedure:

E.1 Government Quota (Gen/SC/BC/HC seats)

All candidates should apply for admission to the B.F.U.H.S. who full the eligibility criteria and other conditions and also have qualified the PPMET 2008. The Selection of candidates will be made by the Central Admission Committee as per schedule of PPMET 2008 as notified by the B.F.U.H.S. The selected candidates by B.F.U.H.S. should report to the institution on the dates to be notified by the B.F.U.H.S. at the time of counseling along with following documents (original and photocopy):-

1) Receipt of Provisional Tuition Fee for the first year.

2) Allotment letter from BFUHS

3) PPMET- 2008 admit card.

4) PPMET -2008 result card/print out.

5) Certificate of having passed the qualifying examination ( 10+2 or equivalent)

6) Certificate showing detailed marks of 10+1nd 10+2 (both) or equivalent examinations.

7) Matriculation certificate showing date of birth.

8) Good conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

9) Certificate showing that the candidate had studied 10+1 & 10+2 as regular student in the recognized institution situated in Punjab.

10)Exemption Certificate whichever applicable as per clause 4 D, in case studied out of Punjab.

11)Migration Certificate, if passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from Board/University other than Punjab School Education Board.

12)Punjab Residence Certificate.

13)Gap in studies affidavit, if applicable.

14)Certificate of reserved category from the competent authority, if any reservation is claimed.

15)Surety Bond/Bank Guarantee of balance fee.

16)Ten unattested copies of the same PP size photograph.

17)Five unattested copies of the same Stamp size photograph.

E.2 Management Quota Seats (Gen/SC/BC/HC/J&K Seats):

1) Receipt of Provisional Tuition Fee for the first year.

E-3 Management Quota (NRI seats/Special Management Quota):

Each candidate is required to apply on the prescribed form to the institution directly after obtaining the Eligibility Certificate from BFUHS in case of NRI Categories I & II by the last day and send the same to the Deputy Registrar, Training, Gian Sagar Educational Institutions, Ground Floor, Building of Gian Sagar Medical College, Ram Nagar (Rajpura), Distt. Patiala, Pin code 140601 (Punjab), India along with attested photocopy of following documents:-

1. Certificate of having passed the qualifying examination ( High School Diploma for Category I &II equivalent to10+2 examination )

2. Certificate showing detailed marks/explanation sheet of grades/credit/Detailed marks of 10+1 and 10+2 (both) or equivalent examinations.

3. Certificate of accreditation of High School for Category I & II.

4. Matriculation certificate showing date of birth /Certificate of date birth.

5. Good conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

6. Certificate showing that the candidate had passed the qualifying examination equivalent to 10+1 & 10+2 as regular student in the recognized institution/university.

7. Photocopy of passport of parent/Candidates.

8. Photocopy of passport or other proof showing Foreign Indian National (NRI) status.

9. Bank Guarantee of balance fee.

10.Ten unattested copies of the same PP size photograph.

11.Five unattested copies of the same Stamp size photograph

12.Bank draft of cost of application form, if down loaded from our web site.

13.Bank draft of application fee (Counseling fee) if down loaded from our web site.

14.Bank draft in favor of Principal, Gian Sagar College of Nursing payable at Chandigarh of Tuition Fee for the first year.(To be deposited at the time of admission/selection)

How to obtain eligibility Certificate from B.F.U.H.S. (For NRI candidates only)

Each NRI candidate should apply to the Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot on the prescribed performa for eligibility certificate alongwith all required documents and fees for obtaining eligibility certificate. All the original certificate/documents are required to be produced to the university for this purpose and the same will be returned by the university after the issue of eligibility certificate. Any seat remaining vacant under the NRI category till the last date of admission shall go to the Special Management quota which will be filled as per the eligibility criteria applicable for management seats but its fee shall be Rupees 8.0500/- per annum.

Special Instructions:

In case the counseling has to be conducted on PPMET inter se merit basis by the BFUHS, then only two counseling will he held and remaining left over seats shall be filled by the institution itself after due notice to DRME as well as Registrar BFUHS in the following order:

(i) From amongst the PPMET appeared students.

(ii) From amongst the 10+2 passed students of Punjab with 3 compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology;

(iii) From amongst the 10+2 passed students belonging to states other than Punjab with 3 compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

F. Medical examination:

Each selected candidate is required to report for medical examination on dates notified for this purpose at the time counseling and also bring with them the original Certificates/ documents as mentioned above and thereafter deposit the all charges on the same day.

Procedure of Admission in G.N.M.

The process of admission will be on the basis of instructions contained in Punjab Government notification .

Admission:
Admission will be strictly based as per notification of Punjab Government.

Eligibility:
Educational Qualification: 10+2 examination in any stream with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/BC/As Per Govtment Rules) in each subject.

Age: 17 to 35 years

Selection Criteria: Merit in 10+2 examination and interview. Preference is given to medical and science students.

Application Procedure:

1. The application form is attached along with prospectus. Prospectus will be available shortly on cash payment of Rs.500 at the office of Principal, Gian Sagar College of Nursing Village Rampur, Near Banur, at Chandigarh- Patiala road, or from Corporate Head office of Gian Sagar Educational &Charitable Trust at SCO- 109-110, Sector 43-B, Chandigarh, 160047.

2. To order the prospectus by post , send a DD of Rs. 550 (Prospectus Rs. 500, Postal Charges Rs. 50) in the name of Principal Gian Sagar College of Nursing payable at Chandigarh.

3. Application can also be submitted personally or by post at the Gian Sagar College of Nursing or at the corporate office, SCO 109-110, Sector 43-B, Chandigarh.The candidates are advised to submit their application personally to avoid postal delay.

4. Immediate application: One can apply immediately by down loading the application form from our web site www.giansagar.com and send application to the Principal or Corporate office along with a draft of Rs 500 in the name of Principal, Gian Sagar College of Nursing payable at Chandigarh.

Fresh Candidate:
The prescribed application form must be filled in by the candidate in her own hand writing. The following documents attested by a gazetted officer must be attached with the application form before submission.

* A copy of certificate having passed the matriculation indicating date of birth.
* A copy of matriculation mark sheet.
* A copy of 10 2 or equivalent examination with detail mark sheet.
* Character certificate from school/college.
* SC/ST/BC rural area certificate attested by 1 st class magistrate.
* An eligibility migration certificate for the candidate for the candidate who have passed from board/university other than Punjab Boards and Universities. (If selected, migration certificate has to be deposited within 15 days of their admission.)
* Punjab domicile certificate.
* Eight recent passport size photographs.
* One self addressed stamped envelope.

Promotes (A.N.M. candidates)
* No age limits but should apply through proper channel.
* Candidate should be registered A.N.M. with the Punjab Nurses Registration Council and should have passed 10 2 examination.
* Candidate should be medically fit.

Selection criteria:
* The selection of candidates to G.N.M. course will be on merit based on the comprehensive interview. Only top candidates after scrutinizing the application forms will be called for interview.
* The decision of the selection board will be final.
* The successful candidate must deposit the fee within two days; otherwise the next deserving candidate on the waiting list will be offered that seat.
* Final selection is subject to medical fitness. Selected candidates shall be examined in our own hospital by a medical board.
* The selected candidate must submit the vaccination card of Hepatitis B, TAB and Cholera if taken, if not vaccinated they will get the vaccines at their own cost from the Institute.
